ReplyDeleteMy teen daughter loved this book, but if I hadn't been listening to the audiobook I doubt I would have finished it. Imaginative premise and creatures, but ultimately disappointing. Behavior of characters was inconsistent and often confusing, and the plot both too straightforward (kept waiting for twists) and ultimately unresolved. The Harry Potter and Hunger Games comparisons on the cover are pure hyperbole -- it doesn't come close to the depth of either.
