  1. I really liked this book. The pacing was perfect for a suspenseful, supernatural novel. The characters are well fleshed out and believable for characters who are experiencing supernatural events. The mysteries in the plot are well thought out and presented. Lots of twists and turns in the plot to keep the reader guessing, leading to an AHA! moment at the same time Jack realizes what is happening. Unfortunately, I'm not sure this will be considered for Newbery, since the suggested audience is teen/Young Adult.
