  1. I really enjoyed this. At first, I thought Addie was going to be a smart-mouthed, brash, know-it (no comments from the peanut gallery! :) but then other sides of her started emerging. James Howe captured the voice of a 7th grade girl amazingly well. Highly recommend this one.

  2. This was a terrific read. Addie is a sympathetic, strong role model for girls, without being goody goody. Really liked her take on her boyfriend, her family, her friends...humor here and poignancy. Entertaining & worthwhile.

  3. Wonderful depiction of the life of a smart, outspoken 7th grader, from her own perspective. Howe gets the tone exactly right, with a great mixture of humor and serious issues. The mixture of styles of poetry worked seamlessly with the story. Absorbing and affirming story!
