The Penderwicks!!! Blarghh!!! Kris, I blame you for this selection!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Penderwicks and I've never read the first or second one! It's perfect for girls who like the mother daughter book club books and those like it!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the Penderwicks books. Why? Because they do what the author says they'll do--provide charming characters, real-life humorous and emotionally resonant situations, and comfort. Yes, they're comfort food. The characters act consistently from book to book, yet show growth as they get older, and they feel like friends. Newbery material? Maybe...that's the joy of a book group...we talk about it and argue a bit. : )
ReplyDeleteAnd also, a bit shout out for Brain Lair--the page looks fantastic! Thanks for all of the hard work you've done in putting this together, man!
