  1. This book would be a good read-aloud for a teacher who's discussing Mark Twain and either Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn with her class. The use of dialect and antiquated words is interesting, but doesn't add to the enjoyment of the book. It was fun little book to read, but is not a Newbery caliber nonfiction.

  2. While this book is all right, I don't think it's going to win the Newbery. It's set up as a picture book in which Huck Finn tells (very briefly) about the life of Mark Twain. While it was interesting (although told me very little that wasn't common knowledge about Twain), I don't think the writing is Newbery quality.
