  1. Reading this one (well, listening to it) now--this is one I'd recommend to readers, because it's funny and the heroine is likeable--also a bit of history there w/ the Depression. Not sure it's Newbery worthy though--plot's a bit predictable, and I'm not knocked out by this one the way I have been by The Dreamer, Keeper, and One Crazy Summer.

  2. Am now finished--enjoyed the story and will recommend it. 2 strongest elements were the protagonist & the historical setting. Made me more interested in Key West.
