  1. This book was unpredictable which kept my interest. The storyline is exciting and I felt like I was experiencing this story. There was a lot of detail on the characters to help you actually picture them in your head. I want a sequel.

  2. I didn't really get into this one. The story was fine but I couldn't connect.

  3. I LOVED this book. Might have been because the narrator was so good. Holt did such a good job describing the life of her characters--and the writing is beautiful. It's a small novel as well as a big novel--historical fiction, love story, adventure. Really worthwhile reading.
