Summary
Three immigrant girls from different parts of the world meet and become close friends in a small New Jersey town where their mothers have found domestic work, but their relationships are tested when one girl's mother is accused of stealing a precious heirloom.

  1. I really appreciated how the author was able to show that although the girls were in similar financial situations, their family lives and aspirations were vastly different. The mystery was a nice touch but I would've loved to read more about the students doing the "community service" to make their applications look better.

  2. With all the books about witches and wizards and other fantasy (which i love but still i dont like JUST those books) this book is a good story about friends, with a little bit of mystery. i love this book! :)
