Although I enjoyed this one. I was a little bogged down with all the details. I felt as if the author was trying to pack a lot of info into the book.
ReplyDeleteRead this with my kids, and we enjoyed it, but I didn't think it came near the originality and humor of the Percy Jackson series. Maybe because the Egyptian mythology is not as familiar to us, but it seemed more contrived, and needed lots of explanations. Some good suspense though, and the kids loved it.
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun one and Riordan always does a good job teaching mythology without the reader knowing it. Not a distinguished book--just fun & exciting and easy to recommend to readers.
ReplyDeletei think it was just really good to read. it might not win the Newbery, but i would recommend it to anybody who was looking for something good to read
