After Ever After by Jordan Sonnenblick
Scholastic Press
January 2010
260 pgs.
Summary
Although Jeff and Tad, encouraged by a new friend, Lindsey, make a deal to help one another overcome aftereffects of their cancer treatments in preparation for eighth-grade graduation, Jeff still craves advice from his older brother Stephen, who is studying drums in Africa.
I really liked Drums Girls and Dangerous Pie, and this one did not disappoint. I like finding out this family's story, and felt like I was part of them while reading.

Thanks for that recommendation! You've just bumped this one higher on my reading stack.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm a fan of Sonnenblick, I felt this was too formulaic. I didn't buy Jeffrey and his brother's relationship in this one as much as I did in Drums.
