315 pg.

Ten-year-old Auggie Pullman, who was born with extreme facial abnormalities and was not expected to survive, goes from being home-schooled to entering fifth grade at a private middle school in Manhattan, which entails enduring the taunting and fear of his classmates as he struggles to be seen as just another student.

  1. I loved this book! The book is written in the first person, but not just in Auggie's voice. All the characters who have a relationship with Auggie tell parts of his story from their point of view. The author did an excellent job of creating realistic voices for each character. A powerful look into the life of extreme disabilities.

  2. I loved this one too. Listened in my car and enjoyed the voices, especially Augie's. Thought the author did a good job making Augie a more real character by showing him through others' eyes. Very moving.
