  1. Lots of Revolutionary War books this year! I always enjoy Giff's books--Pictures of Hollis Woods is one of my favorites. This one's not as strong, and more importantly, it's not as strong as other contenders this year. I will recommend it to girls who enjoy historical fiction, and the doppelganger effect created by Elizabeth and Zee is an interesting device, but not distinguished.
