Summary: Lulu's parents refuse to give in when she demands a brontosaurus for her birthday and so she sets out to find her own, but while the brontosaurus she finally meets approves of pets, he does not intend to be Lulu's.
This was so much fun! The illustrations were fantastic and I enjoyed how the brontosaurus turned the tables on Lulu. I also like how Viorst gave us a choice of endings.
ReplyDeleteRead this aloud with my son, and we enjoyed the author's silly side commentary and unexpected twists (like multiple endings), but in my opinion it seems too "lightweight" to be a contender. Fun, but not memorable.
