  1. I picked up the Danger Box because it is set in Three Oaks, Michigan, and because it is written by Blue Balliett who wrote Chasing Vermeer. I was impressed by this book. Zoomy's character is authentic and personable. You really feel like Balliett sits you down in the middle of Three Oaks and introduces you to some of the folk who live there (although let me clarify, this is a work of fiction). And the plot moves right along, while weaving history and science into the story. Solid story!

  2. Huh, I felt Zoomy was unrealistic and the author's voice kept interfering with my reading. I had to force myself to get 1/2 way through and finally gave up.
